| Encounter’s Vision is simple. We want to help people encounter Christ. This is not simply referring to an experience, but ultimately a changed life. To continually keep the focus at Encounter on reaching the lost and hurting we must maintain an outward focus. Many churches today have turned from reaching the lost to pampering its members. Christ church is not a club to join, but a Kingdom to be established. Remaining an outward focus requires us to teach members that the more mature have fewer rights. In addition, we must constantly evaluate who we are attracting and assimilating into the life of the Church. Also, we must focus our programming around the needs of those who we have yet to reach. It is our goal to be a healthy church first. We believe numerical growth is a natural and inevitable byproduct of becoming healthy. One way in which we pursue being a healthy church is by striving to bring a high quality of ministry to every age group at Encounter! We desire to seek God’s vision for us and to passionately pursue it! We know that within God’s vision for us is His desire to plant new congregations through us. As the average worship attendance of Encounter grows near 300, we will begin to seek God’s will on where to plant a new congregation. |
